THIS YEAR'S

ANNUAL BULLERT FAMILY REUNION

will be held on July 28, 2018 in

Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Last year's ANNUAL BULLERT FAMILY REUNION

was held on 7/29/17 in Hutchinson, Minnesota

and was lots of fun and a great success!

  Huge thanks to gracious hosts

Mary Lou Bullert

David Wilhelm Erdmann BULLER (b. 31 Jan 1820) and his first cousin, Gottfried BULLER (b. 16 May 1808), changed the spelling of their last name to "BULLERT".

At this time, no reason is known for this change.  However, early Zempelburg, West Prussia, parish records interchange the spelling between "BULLER" and "BULLERT.

The name "BULLER" meant a writer of documents, and it is interesting that among the descendants of the BULLER/BULLERT family are teachers, lawyers, doctors, builders and engineers.

Marie Clara "Mary" (BRAKHAGE) BULLERT, sang.

 Our earl
iest proven Bullert ancestor lived in Zempelburg, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia
(now Sępólno Krajeńskie, Poland).
This website charts his descendants who were pioneer settlers in
Green Isle, Sibley County, Minnesota.

Daniel Buller (c1726 - 1803)
married Marianne Meller (c1738-1809) on Nov. 9, 1752.

Their marriage record spelled his surname as Daniel "Bullert".
Early 1700's parish records from Zempelburg, West Prussia, were in Latin, spelling the surname both as "Buller" and "Bullert".
By the early 1800's, the spelling appeared as "Bullert". The reason for the different spellings is unknown.
One theory is that the parish priest was Polish and Daniel Buller was German.
The priest wrote down the name as it sounded to him, and that may account for the two different spellings.

This website is a work in progress.
